Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2026-07-13
Note: Characterized by a jump in solar wind speed from ~325 km/s to ~400 km/s and a sudden jump in temperature from ~215k K to ~590k K. A jump in B_total from ~8nT to ~17nT starting at 2026-07-21T10:05Z was preceded by two smaller increases in magnetic field. The first began at 2026-07-20T22:46Z, and the second, more gradual increase began around 2026-07-21T06:02Z. Density has been steadily increasing starting as early as 2026-07-20T12:18Z. The solar wind speed began a slow rise as early as 2026-07-20T22:35Z prior to the onset. This high speed stream is likely associated with an equatorial coronal hole spanning N05 to S05 which reached the central meridian on 2026-07-16.
